How can Bitcoin stay Bitcoin?

While David is away, Blockworks’ newsletter strategist Molly Jane takes the helm of today’s Supply Shock.
Sure, you like Bitcoin — but are you a Bitcoiner or a “normie”?
Today’s Supply Shock with OG Bitcoiner Alp dives into what’s really going on in the heart of the Bitcoin community.
We can all appreciate Bitcoin in different ways, no matter what year we first heard of the digital currency — but how can we keep Bitcoin’s core principles alive as more and more newcomers enter the space?

The pseudonymous Alp has been in Bitcoin for longer than most of the readers of this newsletter. (Or perhaps not — send us a reply if you’ve been around since the Satoshi days.)
In conversation with Bitcoin Historian Pete Rizzo, the two OG Bitcoiners explore what it actually means to be in the Bitcoin space right now. With a pro-crypto American president, long-timers like Alp now believe that Bitcoin is at a landmark moment in its evolution.
“I don't think Bitcoin is at the point right now where significant dangers exist anymore. We've lived through a lot of real conflicts, real turning points, where the stakes were high, where things could have been broken,” Alp said.
“And now at this point, it just feels like it's just a part of nature. It just is...You can't stop it.”
But even though Bitcoin’s future seems more secure than ever, new interest means that the original Bitcoin community values of decentralization in the cypherpunk era may be at risk.

Institutional interest in Ethereum is running hot. ETF flows are gaining momentum, new token acquisition vehicles are forming every week, and ecosystem morale is nearing ATHs.
The only question left: Where will $ETH be when DAS London kicks off this October?
